Integrate Slack

Team plans

Chat and collaborate with Builder directly in your company Slack. Builder uses your conversation to create changes to existing Projects.

Invite Builder to your Slack

First, add the Builder.io App for Slack to your Slack Workspace:

Next, invite the Builder.io App for Slack to a specific channel:

  1. Within Slack, navigate to a channel.
  2. Within the message bar, type /invite @Builder.io.
  3. Send the message.

This invites the @Builder.io App for Slack to your channel.

Configure your connection

To configure your connection with Builder:

  1. Within a Slack Workspace that has the Builder.io App for Slack, type /builder configure.
  2. Send the message.
  3. Click the Connect Builder.io Space button sent by the agent.
  4. Choose the Space you wish to provide access to.

Note: By connecting your Space to your Slack, all mentions of @Builder.io will reference that Space. It is not possible to reference multiple Spaces within a single Slack Workspace.

Make your prompt

Once you've connected and configured the App for Slack, prompt Builder to make a change to a Project by typing @Builder.io followed by your prompt.

The agent responds in a thread, asking you which Project this prompt applies to. Select the Project, at which point Builder gets to work.

Once Builder is done, the Slack App sends a new message describing what it has done and provides a link to the Project. Click the link to display the changes Builder made to your Project.
